Angle Converter

Convert between angle units instantly: degrees, radians, gradians, arcminutes, arcseconds, turns, and milliradians. Free, 100% in your browser.

How does angle conversion work?

Angle conversion uses fixed ratios between units. This tool converts through degrees (°) as the base unit. A full rotation = 360° = 2π radians = 400 gradians = 1 turn. 1 degree = 60 arcminutes = 3,600 arcseconds. 1 radian ≈ 57.2958°. 1 milliradian = 0.001 radians ≈ 0.0573°.

Unit reference

Degree (°) — the most common angle unit, 360° in a full circle. Radian (rad) — the SI unit of angle, 2π radians in a full circle. Used in mathematics and physics. Gradian (gon) — 400 gradians in a full circle. Used in surveying and some European countries. Arcminute (′) — 1/60 of a degree. Used in astronomy and navigation. Arcsecond (″) — 1/60 of an arcminute (1/3600 of a degree). Used in astronomy. Turn — one full rotation. Milliradian (mrad) — used in military and ballistics.

Common use cases

Mathematics — convert between degrees and radians for trigonometric functions. Navigation — convert compass bearings between different units. Surveying — convert between degrees and gradians. Astronomy — convert between degrees, arcminutes, and arcseconds for celestial coordinates. Engineering — convert angle measurements for CAD and machining.
