Reference
Why minify CSS?
Minification removes whitespace, comments, and unnecessary characters from CSS to reduce file size. Typical savings are 20–40% before gzip and even more after. Smaller CSS means faster page load — especially on mobile. The tool also shortens 6-digit hex colors to 3 digits when possible (#ffaa00 → #fa0).
Minifier options
- Remove comments — strips
/* ... */blocks. - Shorten hex colors — converts
#ffaa00to#fa0when possible. - Strip trailing semicolons — removes the last
;in each block.
